If you have had a session with me recently, then chances are I have recommend this book. I really enjoyed it. Check out the bonus material on the authors website.
Mindfulness & parenting- YES! I loved how Hunter Clarke-Fields calls for anyone reading this book to do some self reflection on how they speak to the humans that they are raising. "Would you talk to your best friend like that?"
After discovering that there is a term to define my 'sensitivity' , and learning that I very much identify as an empath, I find myself craving the tools and validation of my experience. "Maybe you find that being in a public place is totally overwhelming. Maybe you’ve noticed that your friends, loved ones, and even acquaintances tend to unload all of their problems on you, looking for advice on what to do. And maybe you can pick up on a person’s energy so closely you begin to feel their emotions. All of this indicates that you might be an empath—someone who has the ability to feel the emotions and energy of other people. Being a highly sensitive person may seem like a burden at times, but doesn’t have to be. Being an empath is a gift that you can use to your advantage." ~Sydney Campos
Be an original! How have others been successful? How to remain confident in your ideas and goals... I discovered when listening to Hidden Potential that Adam Grant grew up in Michigan, and I've already loved his book Think Again, so now I have found myself an Adam Grant junkie!
From the author, C.J. Llewelyn "In my work, I utilize polyvagal theory, which informs us about the profound connection between our nervous system and emotional states. Our vagus nerve guides us to create a sense of safety, promote healing, and restore balance in both the body and mind. In this way, the body is the pathway to the Soul. I am also an Internal Family Systems therapist and trained in Brainspotting, EMDR and energy psychology. I continue to support hundreds of clients struggling with trauma and addictions."
I really liked this one also, it does a great job of reminding you that you are capable of great things!
I am still working on this one, but it definitely reinforces what we subconsciously already know... get off your phone, and limit your kids learned phone habits!
